Reflections of Love
A Special Tribute
To Our Beloved Bishop Clinton and Dr. Mary L. House
There are some people God places in your life
whose impact can never fully be measured by words
or time. For our family, you are those people.
Our journey with you began more than 18 years ago
at Golden Valley Apostolic Church, although at the
time, none of us could have imagined where God
would eventually lead us.
I, Gloria, first came into the ministry as a woman
broken in spirit. I had gone through a divorce, I was
raising my son as a single mother, and I was
desperately searching for something that could help
set my life back on the right course.
God used someone from the church to reach out to me. She befriended me and made it her
mission to pick me up and bring me to church so that I could sit under the Word of God. Week
after week, I came, and the Word began to feed my spirit, strengthen me, and restore what had
been broken within me.
What began with someone simply giving me a ride to church became the beginning of God
changing the course of our entire family.
As I continued to grow, I invited a friend to church4a man who would later become my husband,
Ronald.
From that point forward, this became our journey.
In this ministry, we and our sons gave our lives to Christ. We were water baptized, and we
received the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. We became
active in ministry, serving wherever we were needed, and over time God began revealing the
callings He had placed upon our lives.
Bishop Clinton and Dr. Mary L House gave us room to grow.
You allowed us to serve. You trusted us with responsibility. You corrected us when correction
was necessary, encouraged us when we needed encouragement, and gave us opportunities to
develop the gifts and callings God had placed within us.
For Gloria, this ministry also became a place of healing and deliverance. God used the Word,
the ministry, and the love shown within this house to bring healing from the wounds of past
abuse. Here she learned how to love differently4how to love her husband, her family, and the
Body of Christ.
