CONGRATULATIONS Pastor Clinton House & Dr. Mary L. House
Reflections of my Humble Beginning at Mountaintop Faith Ministries
Upon my arrival at Mountaintop Faith Ministries, Pastor House
asked his secretary to set up an appointment for Charles & Thelma
Hall. We attended the 4:00 pm meeting in his office. His question to
Sister Hall was, what are some of the things you like doing in Church
ministry?
My response was: How much time do you have? I had attended
church from age seven to age sixty-two years of age. Pastor pushed
his chair away from his desk and then pulled his chair back up to his
desk and said in another way: Of all the things you have done in
church, what is your favorite thing to do? My response was making
leaders.
Somewhat later, Dr. House asked if I would be interested in working with the Youth of the
Church. She promised, they won9t bite. I had worked at the national level of the Pentecostal
Assemblies of the World as an elected officer of the International Young People9s Department.
I understood why she asked, but my reply was: I am waiting for my husband to join a ministry,
and then I will make a decision.
After Deacon Hall joined the Deacon Board, and before I could decide on the youth
department, Pastor House requested Sister Hall to be the leader of five ministries. I thought I
could only serve in one ministry and that was Senior Eagles by another name. All my five
ministries met on third Saturday and I divided my one hour between the five ministries. Out of
those five ministries, many leaders emerged.
To reflect on Pastor and Dr. House over their anniversary of thirty-six years and since I have
been a member of Mountaintop Faith Ministries for twenty-six years, they have shown
continued love, strength, resilience, compassion and patience. God has blessed this ministry
to grow and to be a beacon of light on a hill for others to glean hope, receive salvation, and
experience a better life in Christ Jesus.
Their walk of faith has helped me to grow in many areas of my life and for this I am very
grateful. Again, Congratulations.
